Grants : the Russell E. Train
Education for Nature Program (EFN) aims to build a dynamic and highly
qualified
corps of conservation leaders in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Established in 1994, EFN is dedicated to Russell E.
Train, World Wildlife Fund's founding trustee, past president, former
chairman
of the board, and current chairman emeritus. Through a number of
initiatives
that help build capacity of individuals and institutions, EFN provides
potential and proven leaders with financial support for higher
education,
short-term training, and practical experience needed to take on
conservation challenges
in their home countries and regions. Working with WWF's network of
field
offices, partner organizations, and training institutions, EFN targets
those
individuals with the potential to excel in their fields, create change,
and
inspire others to get involved in conservation. EFN grantees have
demonstrated
leadership ability, excellence in their work, and commitment to
conservation in
their home countries and regions. EFN funds are limited to nationals of
a small
number of developing countries

is a multi-disciplinary funding organisation residing under the
Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). The main
mission of WOTRO is to initiate, to enhance and to fund high quality
scientific research in tropical regions, with emphasis on societal
relevance. WOTRO offers grants for medium-sized research programmes
(max. € 700,000), integrated sets of projects executed by Ph.D. or
postdoc researchers from the Netherlands and developing countries.
Research programmes should be aimed at either development issues in a

provides a list of 64 land management projects from all over the world
that have received GEF funding. It lists how much each project received
and also provides advice and guidance to those who want to apply for
GEF funds
